2016 queen and nuc availability update

April 2nd, 2016 by melanie

If you are looking for STARTER NUCLEI- we are officially booked for our 2016 seasonal batches. If our bees are able to share more this season, we’ll post an update on this web blog. And for those interested in placing a reservation for 2017 season, please contact us after the winter holidays and look for late season updates on this web blog.

If you have already placed an order for an early season starter nucleus hive, we are scheduling pick ups. For mountain mated batches, we’ll begin making contact in late May.

If you are looking for queens: mated, virgin and Breeding Companions, we have availability from latter half of June-September.

Queen cells are available for quantity orders only as timing is critical and shipping overnight is expensive. Queen cells are offered from diverse breeding stock for $12-14 depending on quantity starting in late April-September.

Virgin queens are available for pick up and shipping. Cost is $18-15/each depending on quantity + USPS Priority flate rate or Express shipping. Availability starting in late April-September.

Mated queens are available for $45/each (marking including). Discounts for quantity orders available. Availability June-September.

Enchanted Empress Breeding Companions are bred from our 3 and 4 year old stock and then outcrossed in our home mating yard @ 8300′ elevation in the southern Rocky Mountains with diverse survivor drone breeder stock. Breeding Companions are available for $200/each (including two-day USPS Express guaranteed shipping). Availability starting June-September.

Royal Jelly is offered in natural beeswax capsules that the bees draw. Each capsule is $3 and contains vitamins, and essential amino acids known to enhance health and wellness. Availability starting in April thru the year.

Propolis is harvested from our queen mating nuc screens, which isn’t riddled with sticks and debris when scraping. The screens are placed in the freezer overnight and then crinkled…which allows tiny flakes of propolis to fall cleaning into the packing bin. This form of the propolis is much easier to dissolve, powder and melt when making tinctures, capsules and balms- which we also offer. Raw propolis from our Land of EnchantmentĀ  high desert canyon, valleys and alpine apiaries. Raw propolis: $10/ounce or $150/lb.

Beeswax is rendered from our honey extraction cappings and thus is considered “virgin” as it has not been used and reused in the hives. We use no miticides and no commercial pharmaceuticals in our hives, but rather utilize herbal therapies and supplements seasonally when conditions dictate. As such, our pure NM beeswax is produced by the bees themselves who have been feeding (and sweating- which is how bees produce beeswax) on natural forage in our enchanted lands. This beeswax can be used to make candles, soaps, body balms. Untested cosmetic grade Beeswax: $20/lb.

Contact (Texting preferred- as our cellular reception in the mountains and canyons can frustrate voice conversations).
